Smartgyro is proud to announce the renewal of its sponsorship of the 23rd Annual Carolina Boat Builders Fishing Tournament (DCBBF), taking place July 22–25, 2026. This partnership reinforces our ongoing commitment to supporting the sportfishing community and the important work of the Dare County Boat Builders Foundation.

Supporting a Meaningful Cause
The DCBBF Tournament is more than just a premier offshore fishing event, it plays a vital role in funding education for local students. The success of the foundation is largely dependent on sponsors and participants. In the spring of this year, the foundation awarded an impressive $200,000 in scholarships, including:
- $71,000 to 17 high school students
- $129,000 to 56 college students and 5 graduate students

Since the tournament's inception 22 years ago, over $1.5 million in scholarships has been awarded to Dare County students.
Jennifer James, Tournament Director at Dare County Boat Builders Foundation said:
“Each year, the tournament continues to grow in both participation and sponsor support. We ensure as much of the bottom line as possible goes directly to scholarships. We could not do what we do without support from sponsors like Smartgyro, it’s essential in helping us continue to grow the tournament and maximize the impact we can make for Dare County students.”
The 2025 tournament delivered strong participation and excellent results, with a total of 39 boats competing catching a total of 217 billfish.
Top finishers included:
- 1st Place – PELICAN (56' Paul Mann)
- 2nd Place – LABRADOR (64' Cap N Squid)
- 3rd Place – HAULIN' GAS (57' Blackwell)
